Happy Fourth of July

I have some good news…………I don’t think I have rabbies after the squirrel bite I sustained the other day.  The excessive mouth foaming has also subsided which is a good thing.

Today Karl and I spent most of the day packing since we are both flying out at 6:00AM from the Sacramento airport and heading to the Midwest.  Karl is going to Michigan for a bit and I am going to the Madison/Milwaukee area and we are both doing some of superweek.  My brother Shane has the privilege of bringing us to the airport at 4:30AM.  Thanks Shane.

Aside from that I though I would document a day of work for us here in Folsom so here it goes (Click on a picture and scroll up from the bottom to get the events in order)A Day at the OfficeA Day at the OfficeA Day at the OfficeA Day at the OfficeA Day at the OfficeA Day at the OfficeA Day at the OfficeA Day at the OfficeA Day at the OfficeA Day at the Office

That is it for tonight……….I hope I can get up at 4AM tomorrow.  I always get nervous about getting up since I can pretty much sleep through anything.

Assault

For the past week or so I have been riding relatively easy.  That means spending a good amount of time cruising up and down the American River bike path and being passed by  ample amounts recreational riders.

The bike path is nice since it is relaxing, has nice views of the river, and there is no motorized traffic.  However, the local squirrel population is out on the path in full force.

Yesterday while cruising the path with Karl and Shane I had a close encounter with one of these little squirrel devils.  I was minding my own buisness riding on my side of the path when a crazed squirrel jumped from the ditch and proceeded to run straight into my wheel.

Upon hitting my wheel the squirrel made one complete revolution in the spokes and then managed to get itself free.  Upon freeing itself from my wheel this vicious animal went flying through the air and managed somehow to clamp its jaws on my leg and frickin’ bite me! Bite Marks Honestly, how in the hell can you get bit by a squirrel riding your bicycle?  Apparently, I have managed to figure that one out.

It was sort of funny at first because being bit by a squirrel is something that does not happen everyday.  However, after getting home I was a bit concered because wild animals have all kinds of diseases and other fun stuff which a human would not like to be afflicted with.  I cleaned the wound thouroughly and figured it should be fine as long as I keep an eye on it.

Everything seems to be fine this morning except for the fact that I have an unusually dry mouth with some foamy discharge After Squirrel Bite I am assuming that is just my allergies acting up?

If you are on the bike path in the Sacramento area beaware of vicious biting squirrels!
