A Few Days Time
Uncategorized February 20th, 2007Since my last update we have completed stage 1 and 2 of the Tour of California. Both stages where pretty long and hard but Ben is still flying and sitting third overall. Tomorrow is a big day with the largest climb of the tour only twenty miles from the finish making it rather decisive.
Stage 1 was really hard and we had some bad luck. Omer and Emile both crashed I was complete shit and there was some controversy regarding a crash at the finish which would have made Ben the leader of the Tour. Unfortunately a call was made that did not go in our favor.
Stage 2 was a bit better except Scotty DNF’d due to illness and Emile and Teddy both crashed but are alright. Ben is still in third as I type though which is huge for the team.
The van ride to the start of stage 1 in Santa Rosa.
Getting ready to race at the start in Santa Rosa (stage 1).
This afternoon I brought a little treat back to the hotel room for Coach O (sorry Cheryl…he was behaved). My wife (Heather “Miss February Playmate” Smith) who also double as a soigneur.
Aside from looking really really good in magazines Heather also give great massages and is an awesome backpack carrier….seriously! *This picture was sensored to make it appropriate for the blog and yes that is me.
Alright time for bed but wish Ben the best of l tomorrow…..the rest of us will be getting him to the base of the climb as fresh as possible and then rolling in just before the time cut.
later, g.

Hey good stuff Champ.. What is next, send more photos and please leave your own but out of it
Well I follow TOC intensely from cold Denmark! I was a pro mountainbiker for a few years and participated in the Olympics in Athens in 2004. Afterwards i got a kneeinjury and had an operation. Know I ride as an amateur for a local club and is trainee in a shippingcompany. This year I will try to get back into some serious condition and do some international MTB and cyclocross races.
How´s your brother?? If Peter Bech and Allan Lundhus knew I was writing you, I should probably send you, their best greetings.

Nice shorts, champ!! What kind of grin is that on MARK’S face? He is so in trouble when cheryl gets there wednesday. ANy idea on the rash of flats? Bad tires, wrong inflation or just crap on the road?? Stay on the bike today and best of luck. BJM did get screwed and anyone with any common sense knows it. See the velonews survey which clearly thought the same way. All in Michigan did think the team reaction to same was WAY classy and mature….Michigan also wants to know when your “wife” will be visiting the mitten state for massages?

I hope to go to The States and do some cyclocross, this coming winter, maybe you can help me get set up?? I reckon it´s in Colorado things happen??
See ya.. Christian

Yikes!
I don’t know what’s more painful! Watching the suffering faces after Levi blows past on climbs at the TOC, OR the freak’n 8″ of snow we recv’d last night! ——– Plus Milwaukee has another 8-10″ on the way! WTF? ——————————– Priority looks like they are having a great TOC.
Give us a report! ha ha..
