Moving Day

Uncategorized 1 Comment »

Today was an action packed day.  Frank, Wes, Hollywood, and I drove down to Denver this morning to help Steph (Frank’s gf) move into her new apartment.

In conjuction with the move….Karl “Hollywood” Menzies also had his first ever photo shoot.  Being the photographer I thought it was a success. Karl was really able to express himself and I think the photos will improve his chances of being discovered…so he can hopeful fulfill his dream of staring in a low budget pron flick or appearing as a model in the weekly Kmart newspaper ads.  Wish Karl the best…..

Anyway here are photos from the move and for Hollywood’s photo shoot photos see the post below….”Hollywood’s Photo Shoot”

DSC03032.JPG I tried to find ways to hurt myself so I did not have to carry anymore heavy shit…but it did not work.

DSC03033.JPG The stairs that we had to carry heavy shit down!

DSC03037.JPG No this is not a gay musical….Hollywood and I are making sure the way is clear!

DSC03043.JPG Wes got scared of me so he ran up a tree.

DSC03044.JPG Ahh…like the good old days of working with my dad for the State Highway Department!

DSC03049.JPG Steph even gave us free Diet Pepsi….I quit drinking Diet soda…or at least after today!

DSC03052.JPG For helping her move Steph bought us lunch!

Even though my arms are really sore from lifting stuff and so are my legs from walking up and downstairs I was happy we could help Steph move into her new place.

Tomorrow is a local race here in Boulder….the Koppenburg….on some dirt roads….I wonder how many flats I am going to get?

Hollywood’s Photo Shoot

Uncategorized 3 Comments »

In conjuction with Steph’s big moving day Hollywood had a big day himself….his first ever photo shoot.  I was contracted to be the photographer which I was a bit nervous about since I had never did a photo shoot myself.  However, Hollywood made it easy for me since he already knew the types of shots he wanted.  At the end of the day here is what we came up with….enjoy…..

DSC03021.JPG Hollywood wanted to start simple and work his way into a groove.

DSC03024.JPG He was definitely a bit nervous at first and was worried about what people would think of his photos.

DSC03034.JPG However, after the first few shots he started to loosen up a bit and get in the groove.

DSC030481.JPG Hollywood wanted to stick with working man type photos so the average person could relate.

DSC03035.JPG This was a turning point in the shoot when Menzies really started to cut loose.

DSC03036.JPG …really feeling it here….

DSC03028.JPG I call this one “the magic carpet ride.”

DSC03027.JPG This one was soo good I thought it was worthy of two photos…”the magic carpet ride part deux.”

DSC03053.JPG After “the magic carpet ride series” Hollywood thought he should do a few tough photos so his masculinity would not be questioned.

DSC030541.JPG For the last photo Karl wanted to send a message and titled this one “I am here to ride bikes.”

Almost Seven Times Better!

Uncategorized 22 Comments »

Yep that is right…I am almost seven times better than Frank Pipp according to NRC Points.

DSC03020.JPG Frank how does it feel to be about 1/7th as good as me?  The scary thing is though that you are still kind of good!

Okay I am bored…I think I am going to go and smash the shit out of some weights.

Home Sweet Home

Uncategorized 2 Comments »

Yep, it has been awhile since I said this but I am home and for those of you that have forgotten that means I am back in Boulder, CO

Anyway, the last few days have consisted of riding in a car, sleeping in a rest area, lots of Starbucks coffee, and last but not least unpacking my bags.

DSC02970.JPG Leaving Redlands on Monday afternoon…it was hard to see with all of the smog…um, I meant fog…or that is what the locals call it.

DSC02974.JPG Shortly after leaving Redlands…I dozed off. Hey, napping is strictly for performance.

DSC02975.JPG I did get up to see the largest thermometer in the US wich is located in Baker, Ca.

DSC02976.JPG After napping it is manditory to have coffee so I am not groggy.

DSC02977.JPG Monday was Coach O’s birthday so I bought him a cup cake from Starbucks.  Happy Birthday Coach O.

DSC02978.JPG Next to Stabucks we got some jerky….which I must say was “out of this world!”

DSC02984.JPG Some cool Joshua tree’s along I-15 in California.

DSC02992.JPG Coach O tried to tell me he got chocolate on his shorts……

DSC02994.JPG …..but after finding this napkin on the floor…I think it was shit!  Plus, the car was kinda stinky!

DSC02998.JPG After spending the night at the Colorado Welcome Center in Fruita, CO in the team car I awoke to a numb leg which had fallen asleep and some lovely Mesas.  I think Mesas area really cool for some reason.

DSC02999.JPG I only spent one night in Fruita, Co and then already named a street after me…pretty cool!

DSC03000.JPG Another Starbucks stop in Fruita, CO.

DSC03006.JPG The tunnel of love….actually that is sort of disgusting since I was riding the the car with Coach O.

DSC03011.JPG Yep, the Rockies are still Rocky….and it is cold at 10,000 feet.

DSC03012.JPG Another Stubuck stop about 100 miles outside of Denver.

DSC03013.JPG Waiting for Mark outside that Starbucks.

DSC03014.JPG That sign is the Boulder city limit sign….I made it.  Too bad for Mark, Benno, and Omer who still had 20 hours of driving to get back to Michigan.

DSC03016.JPG What do I come back to….having to ride with half of the Health Net Team….needless to say it was a miserable ride…but I will admit it is nice to see Frank and Karl.

I did give the 177.5 cranks a run today and I don’t like them so I have to switch back…I am not sure why I always want to change shit….it definitely makes my life complicated.
