Hanging

Uncategorized 15 Comments »

Today’s task was pretty simple….hang a heavy ass mirror on the wall.

DSC03229.JPG How does it look?  Just for future reference…anyone who stops over to visit please don’t go near the big mirror on the wall as I not too sure how well it is held up!

DSC03227.JPG Aside from the mirror we got a new coffee table in the living which is a nice addition.  Now all we are waiting for is the new plasma television!

I definitely felt like a dude today…going to Home Depot, drilling holes in the walls, eating steak and burgers (thanks for dinner Hollywood)…time to go curl up on the couch with the leopard print blanket and watch repeats of Grey’s Anatomy!

Another Day

Uncategorized 4 Comments »

Got in a nice ride with Frank, Karl, and Mr. Meadley today. It was the first time I actually ever rode up Coal Creek Canyon and the views were rather terrible.

DSC03220.JPG The start of Coal Creek Canyon and a bit before we started motor pacing behind Frank.

DSC03223.JPG Wow, Colorado is a terrible place!

DSC03225.JPG Near the end of the ride we had to stop so Frank could frolic in the flowers.   I wonder if his gf Steph knows about his feminine tendencies?

Aside from getting throttled by Frank on some recent training rides I have been busy watching “The Hills” and my new favorite show “LA Ink”…..tattooed girls so hot right now!

I also got the fax/copy/printer machine up and running at the house…so if you can’t get a hold of me on my cell just fax me.

DSC03226.JPG This little bastard took up about six hours of my day!

Last but not least I have also started gathering my documents together so I can apply to CU Boulder and hopefully take some classes next fall!  Going back to college will not affect my cycling so no worries there!  I am looking forward to  going back to school so hopefully everything works out.

Sun for All

Uncategorized 2 Comments »

Woke up to yet another beautiful day here in Boulder…and got out for a short miserable ride.  Yep, I felt like complete piss…could have sworn I was riding someone elses bike…but hey the weather was great!

DSC03216.JPG The views of Longs Peak in the background were rather lovely also!

Speaking of the weather Frank and I got into a little sun bathing debate while out on a ride yesterday.  To make a long story short Frank, for the most part, concludes that the sun is the devil and strikes down up thee with cancer!

I do not totally disagree with Frank however, I like the sun! For some reason I have always thought that sun bathing gives me good sensations and allows me relax so I don’t feel the need to clean and organize shit!

Apparently I am not a complete nutter because, ”Recent studies have found that the skin can produce endorphins, which led researchers to theorize that UV exposure stimulates endorphin-production to create a sense of well-being in tanners.” (Baumann)

On top of this I utilize the sun’s rays for saddle sore prevention….yes even the “taint” needs some sun. However, I don’t think the neighbors need to see the taint getting some sun…unless maybe…..

Made it back home late Monday night after a fun rain soaked weekend in Chicago for the US Pro Crit Champs.  It was great to see my parents who made the long drive down to watch along with my aunt Cathy, and uncle Tom.

Overall I would say this weekend was a success considering we raced two rainy crits and I kept all of my skin and so did most of my teammates.  Hope Omer’s hand heals up and Lara’s toe which was injured in a non-racing incident!

Aside from the racing my trip home was a complete brothel!  It seems rare to have an on time flight these days and this time I got to scope out the St. Louis airport for four extra hours.

However, the ticket lady must have felt bad for me…it must have been the tears flowing down my face…because she upgraded me to first class!

Time for more coffee…got up at 6:38 AM this morning which I find rather terrible!  The sun is barely up so i cannot even work on my tan while I drink my coffee!

Social Security

Uncategorized 6 Comments »

After getting home this afternoon from one of my greatest bike practices ever I assumed the domestic duty of getting the mail.  Inside the little mailbox waiting for me was my first ever Social Security Statement.

At first I figured Social Security is only for the old folk or that it was some bill so why even open it.  Just as I was about to throw my letter away I decided to be responsible and read the thing.

The good news I found out while reading my statement (yes, I can read) is that if I get disabled tomorrow I have enough credits to get money since I would be unable to work.  I also found out that if I die my wife (Heather “February Playmate” Smith) or my kids (Heather we have to work on this one…solely, of course, for the purpose of Social Security Benefits) get money also!

However, I was a bit disheartened to find out that I will have to race bicycle until I am 67 in order to get a full retirement…I am not sure if I can do it?  Hey, I wonder if that is what Tilford is doing?
