Sun for All
Uncategorized August 25th, 2007Woke up to yet another beautiful day here in Boulder…and got out for a short miserable ride. Yep, I felt like complete piss…could have sworn I was riding someone elses bike…but hey the weather was great!
The views of Longs Peak in the background were rather lovely also!
Speaking of the weather Frank and I got into a little sun bathing debate while out on a ride yesterday. To make a long story short Frank, for the most part, concludes that the sun is the devil and strikes down up thee with cancer!
I do not totally disagree with Frank however, I like the sun! For some reason I have always thought that sun bathing gives me good sensations and allows me relax so I don’t feel the need to clean and organize shit!
Apparently I am not a complete nutter because, ”Recent studies have found that the skin can produce endorphins, which led researchers to theorize that UV exposure stimulates endorphin-production to create a sense of well-being in tanners.” (Baumann)
On top of this I utilize the sun’s rays for saddle sore prevention….yes even the “taint” needs some sun. However, I don’t think the neighbors need to see the taint getting some sun…unless maybe…..

I’m not entirely certain, but this may be one of the first actual source citations in the history of cyclist blogs. Well done. Well done indeed Dr. Peltonen.

i firmly believe, and was raised on the theory, that the sun is essential to well-being and action-getting
those people that slam it are just bummed because they burn, not tan….and probably don’t get enough action either…
