For the past month I have been logging some good hours on the mountain which has been fun…aside obviously from falling over countless times due the road pedals on my mountain bike.  However, that problem has been solved with a one-hundred plus dollar visit to the local bike shop!

Anyway, a few days ago I went to check out some new trails in the mountains which I thought would be fun but instead they were not ridable.  Pushing a heavy ass mountain bike straight up a mountain on a loose rocky trail in the snow and wind is a good work out but it honestly made me want to cry!

Why do I love mountain biking…let’s see:

DSC00058.JPG It is great getting dirty and freezing my fingers and toes so that they hurt really bad once I get back home…yep that almost made me cry also.

DSC00066.JPG Like I mentioned it is also great to push a heavy ass bike straight up a mountain into the snow because the trail is unridable.  Oh, I forgot to mention while I was getting snowed on it was sunny and warm in Boulder.

DSC00060.JPG One of the most exhilirating things to do is fix flat tires on the trail!

DSC00064.JPG …and even more fun fix a  second flat on the trail!  I will admit it was rather comical to see Rory change two flats in the cold mud…I did feel a bit bad for him for about .001 seconds…then it was funny again!

DSC00059.JPG but sometimes I guess the views and the trails make it all worth while.

DSC00067.JPG Another splendid view….actually just trying out my new camera which I downloaded to my new computer.  Getting new stuff…so in for ‘08!

Speaking of new stuff got my new cross bike yesterday which is nice and now it won’t be as hard to keep up with the road guys on the road!

Okay, I had better get to bed since I have to get up early (alarm set for 3:57AM) for my drive back to northern Wisconsin.  My plan was not to go back home until around Christmas time but unfortunately my Grandma passed away a few days ago…she will definitely be missed!
