Today marks day number three of Scotty and my stay in Alabama and so far things have been awesome…well except for the recovery!  Thanks to the Phillis family for being such great hosts and thanks to their three daughters for keeping Scotty and I rather busy.  Anyway, here are some photos…

DSC00514.JPG I am sure that not many of you knew Anniston, AL is home to the Worlds largest chair…at least I was unaware!

DSC00518.JPG While not riding Scotty and I have been sharpening up our reflexes playing Galaga!

DSC00572.JPG Third and fourth graders are huge fans of the trampoline!

DSC00539.JPG Scotty can throw it down with the best of them!

DSC00548.JPG From the trampoline it was onto the swings…

DSC00552.JPG That was short lived…since I think I am a bit too big for the swing.

DSC00545.JPG After a quick rest…

DSC00564.JPG It was time for a little motorcycle riding…

DSC00587.JPG Then a little chalk artistry on the driveway!

DSC00595.JPG The finished product!

Okay, off to jump on the trampoline some more….

Anniston, AL

This week Scotty Z. and I are having a little romantic getaway in Anniston, AL!  We are staying in the pool house of the Sunny King Crit race organizer…thanks Terry and Cindy for providing us with a great place to stay!

The two of us will be staying in Alabama through the weekend and racing the Sunny King Crit on Saturday and Roswell Crit on Sunday.  Then on Monday we will be driving the team car to Fayetteville, AK for the Joe Martin Stage Race with teammates coming and going for both races.

Anyway, this typing is tiring me out and I don’t want to feel like more piss than I already do by disrupting my recovery! Time to watch “Sweet 16 Blingest” which is on MTV at the moment!

…my teammate Richie England for winning stage five of the Tour de Georgia!  Not only did Richie win stage five but Teddy was in the break all day and ended up taking the KOM jersey from my good friend (enemy this week) Frank Pipp.  Nice job boys!

It was definitely nice to have such a successful day today after suffering some bad luck in the TTT yesterday.  Only two more stages left in the tour…however, tomorrow we go over two monstorous climbs before the painfully hard Brasstown Bald mountain top finish!

I Made VeloNews!

Well, since I have not won a race since last year getting my picture in cycling magazines is rather difficult…well, that was until today!

Mitchellpostrace.jpg Velonews ran a nice story about our boss Glen “A Conversation With Bissell Boss Glen Mitchell.” after Neal Rogers of Velonews spent today’s stage in our team car.  I wonder who that is in the back seat?

Ahhhh…finally made it to Savannah, GA after two days of travel! It has been an eventful past few days…two days of travel, two trips to the airport, one flight attendant dislocated shoulder, one cancelled flight, one lunch almost lost on “the vomit” machine known as an airplane, a Tour de Georgia team presentation, two saddle changes, two massages, and one conversation with a cute podium girl!
DSC00496.JPG Having to head home on the bus from Denver International Airport after boarding our plane only to have it cancelled due to a flight attendant dislocating her shoulder!

DSC00497.JPG My bus pass to get back to the airport the next morning! Nothing like spending all day in the airport when it is nice not go anywhere! At least I did not have to pack again.

DSC00501.JPG The ride this afternoon on Tybee Island, GA…I was nice to be riding with the boys again!

DSC00500.JPG Aerial view from the Helicopter.

DSC004981.JPGJim O’brien (one of our two awesome mechanics) changing my saddle for the first time today! After two tries I settled on the Fizik Arione TRI2 WingFlex (http://www.fizik.it/catalog.aspx?subid=Arione_TRI2_wingflex). Wonder how long this one will last on my bike?

Tour de Georgia starts tomorrow…wish us luck!
